Overtime work shall be kept to a minimum and, except in cases
of emergency, must be authorized in advance by the department head
or Mayor.
Records shall be kept by the department heads as to all overtime
and filed with the Township Clerk monthly.
Salaried Township employees, with the exception of department
heads, who incur an undue amount of overtime may be granted equal
time off in lieu of overtime compensation at such time as is arranged
with and approved by their department heads or the Mayor.
A.
Employees of the Public Works Department who work in excess of eight
hours per day and over 40 hours in the workweek shall be paid overtime
at the rate of 1 1/2 their base hourly rate.
B.
Employees of the Public Works Department who shall respond to a declared emergency condition who must work on any day declared in § 46-29 to be a legal holiday for the Township of Allamuchy shall be paid, in addition to the regular pay the employee would receive for said holiday, for each hour worked, two times the normal hourly wage rate for said employee as determined under § 46-34 of this chapter. For the purpose of this subsection, the term "holiday" shall be defined as the period commencing 12:01 a.m. of the day of said holiday through and including 11:59 p.m. of said holiday.
