Village of Cedarhurst, NY Chapter 15 Checks

Article I Liability

§ 15-1 Acceptance of checks for payments. [1]

The Village of Cedarhurst accepts payments by personal check to the Village Clerk-Treasurer and assumes the risk of loss of moneys represented thereby in the event of dishonor.

§ 15-2 Responsibility for dishonored checks.

The Village of Cedarhurst shall not hold the Village Clerk-Treasurer personally liable for dishonored checks unless there is misfeasance, malfeasance, prior intent or knowledge with the acceptance of a bad check.

§ 15-3 Payments to Village Justice. [1]

Any payments to the Village Justice shall be made as determined by such rules as may be prescribed by the Village Justice.
