Township of Grosse Ile, MI Article IV Delay of Sentencing; Leniency

§ 1-30 Adoption of provisions by reference.

The Township hereby adopts by reference Public Act Number 175 of 1927, as amended (MCL § 771-1).

§ 1-31 Explanation of references.

All references in the act to "governmental unit" or "township" shall mean the Township of Grosse Ile.

§ 1-32 Purpose.

The purpose of this article is to allow the court under certain limited circumstances to accept a plea and to delay sentencing to provide the defendant with an opportunity to prove his eligibility for probation or for other leniency compatible with the ends of justice.

§ 1-33 Publication required.

This article shall be published within 30 days after passage in a newspaper circulating within the Township.

§ 1-34 When effective; copies available.

A. This article shall take effect the day after the publication in a newspaper generally circulated in the Township of Grosse Ile.

B. A true copy of this article may be inspected or obtained at the Township Clerk's office at 9601 Groh Road, Grosse Ile, Michigan, during regular business hours.
