There shall be an information technology department that shall
maintain the information technology of the city. An information technology
director may be appointed to advise and assist the city manager in
administering the information technology rules and regulations, and
shall:
(a)
Provide oversight of all technology-related products and services
for all departments within the city to maintain consistency with the
city technology plan;
(b)
Establish and maintain procedures for use and control of the
city technology systems;
(c)
Be responsible for the network administration and integration;
software development and installation; maintenance of hardware and
software, troubleshooting problems, and modifications;
(d)
Prepare and administer the department and information services
capital budget replacement, including upgrades and replacements;
(e)
Provide for the training of city employees on information technology;
and
(f)
Perform such other regulated duties as shall be required by
law, ordinance, rule or regulation of the city manager.
