The purpose of this Ordinance is to encourage the maintenance,
preservation, conservation, and otherwise continue in existence adequate
open space lands for the production of food and fiber and to assure
the use and enjoyment of natural resource and scenic beauty for the
economic and social well-being of the citizens of Kittitas County.
Further, the Ordinance is so designed as to permit the continued availability
of open space lands through the adoption of a benefit rating system
and a potential reduction in assessed value for lands that qualify.
