Members of the Planning Commission shall be appointed using the procedure specified in Council Policy #95-1. Appointments to the Commission shall be made at the last regular meeting of the Council held in the month of January. If a vacancy occurs otherwise than by expiration of a term, it shall be filled by appointment for the unexpired portion of the term. Each Commissioner shall serve until replaced.

The Planning Commission shall hold hearings, make recommendations to the City Council, and perform all duties required by law. The Planning Commission shall advise the City Council on any matters concerning the use and development of land in the City when so requested by the City Council.

The members of the Planning Commission shall be compensated for their duties, and reimbursed for expenses incurred in their official function, as set forth by resolution of the Council.
