Section 903.2 of the California Fire Code, 2022 Edition is amended
to read as follows:
903.2 Where required. Automatic fire sprinklers
shall be provided for the following:
(a)
Notwithstanding any provision in Section 903.2 of the CFC and Section
903.2 of the CBC, approved automatic fire sprinklers shall be installed
and maintained in accordance with N.F.P.A., Standard 13 when total
square footage equals 3,500 square feet or more throughout all buildings
as set forth.
(b)
Any existing building shall be retrofitted with automatic fire sprinklers
when a structure exceeds 3,500 square feet and additions or tenant
improvements are made which exceed 30% of the original building square
footage.
