The term "officer" shall include any person holding any situation under the city government or any of its departments, with an annual salary, or for a definite term of office.

That the salary schedule as prepared in the "Position Classification, Job Evaluation, and Salary Plan Study" by the City of Rolla Job Evaluation Committee with the assistance of Commonwealth Personnel Management Services, a copy of which is attached hereto, and marked Exhibit "A", be and the same is hereby adopted as the salary schedule for the job classifications set forth therein for the City of Rolla, Missouri.

(a) 
The mayor of the city is directed to execute and file, for and on behalf of the city any required notice of the city election to accept the provisions of the Worker's Compensation Act, with the State Department of Labor, Division of Worker's Compensation.
(b) 
The mayor is hereby authorized to make application for and on behalf of the city for appropriate compensation insurance through the city underwriters.

(a) 
Officers of the city shall receive reimbursement and compensation for expenses incurred by such officers in attending any area, state or national meetings on municipal matters, or any schools or courses of instruction pertaining to municipal matters, or in visits to other cities and communities in behalf of the business affairs of the city; provided, however, such reimbursement and compensation has been budgeted.
(b) 
The reimbursement and compensation to officers of the city, as set forth in subsection (a) hereof, shall be as adopted in the City of Rolla Personnel Rules and Regulations.

(a) 
Pursuant to Section 77.370 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri 1978 as amended, the following offices are hereby declared to be appointive and not elective: the city collector and city treasurer.
(b) 
As and from the date of the April 1986 Municipal Election, the mayor, with the consent and approval of the majority of the members elected to the city council, shall have the power to appoint qualified persons to serve as city treasurer and city collector. The term of such appointment shall be for four (4) years.
(c) 
Persons appointed to the appointive offices of city collector and city treasurer shall be subject to removal from office in accordance with Section 77.340 Revised Statutes of Missouri 1978.
The requirements and qualifications for persons appointed to the office of city collector and city treasurer shall be established by ordinance in conformance with applicable State Statutes.
(d) 
Compensation for officers appointed to the office of city collector and city treasurer shall be set forth by ordinance approved by the city council.
(e) 
Effective at the end of their present terms, the elective offices of city collector and city treasurer are hereby abolished.
(f) 
This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after the date of its passage and approval.
