Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction in the municipal court of the city shall be subject to a fine in accordance with the general penalty provided in section 1.01.009 of this code for each offense.

(a) 
The police department is authorized to issue citations to vehicles parked or left in violation of this article, and to immediately remove or cause the removal of the vehicle or impediment to the city pound and hold same until claimed by owner.
(b) 
The police department is authorized to hold the vehicle and to charge a pound fee in accordance with an established schedule before such vehicle will be released.

It shall be unlawful for any person to leave, stand, or park any motor vehicle, trailer, boat, or other impediment within fifteen (15) feet of the intersection of a public street, within the city limits. For purposes of this section, “intersection” is defined as the area embraced within the prolongation or connection of the lateral curblines or, if none, then the lateral boundary lines of the roadways of a street.

No person shall leave standing or park in any public street within the city limits any vehicle, automobile, or other character of private property unattended for a longer continuous period of time than twenty-four (24) hours.

It shall be unlawful for any person, or any owner, to leave, park, or stand any truck, truck-trailer, road tractor, semitrailer, or bus with a weight or rated carrying capacity in excess of one and one-half (1-1/2) tons, according to the manufacture’s classification, upon any street or upon any private property within any area zoned by the comprehensive zoning ordinance and map of the city as a single-family dwelling district, two-family dwelling district, or multiple-family dwelling district. This section shall not prevent parking or standing of such vehicle in such areas for the purpose of expeditiously loading or unloading of passengers, freight, or merchandise, or for the purpose of installation, repairs or service to public facilities, or for the purpose of accomplishing solid waste disposal operations, but not otherwise.

If any vehicle is found unattended or unoccupied upon a street, highway, alley, or other place where parking is prohibited by this article or any other ordinance of the city, the same is hereby declared a nuisance per se, and the fact that such vehicle is unattended or unoccupied by any person shall be prima facie evidence that the owner unlawfully stopped, placed or parked such vehicle at such location. Further, no person shall allow, permit, or suffer any motor or other vehicle registered in his name to be left, stopped, or parked in violation of this article or any parking regulation of the city.

(a) 
Purpose.
The purpose of this section is to reduce hazardous traffic conditions resulting from the use of certain street or roads that are too narrow for roadway parking; to promote efficiency in the maintenance of those streets in a clean and safe condition; to preserve the value of the property in that district; to preserve the safety of children and other pedestrians and traffic safety generally and to preserve the public health, safety of children and other pedestrians and traffic safety generally; and to preserve the public health, safety, and general welfare of the inhabitants of the city. The entire residential areas of the city are applicable to this purpose.
(b) 
Authorization.
The chief of police is authorized and directed to install the appropriate signs as provided in subsection (a) above to establish the prohibited and restricted parking zones provided for in this section. All such signs shall conform to the Uniform Manual on Traffic-Control Devices promulgated by the state department of transportation.

(a) 
From and after the erection of appropriate signs as provided herein, it shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to park any motor vehicle on those portions of the streets indicated as follows; it shall be unlawful and an offense for any person to leave, stand or park any motor vehicle at any time at any of the following locations:
(1) 
Both sides of the East Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) north from Malloy Bridge Road north to the Malloy Bridge Road entrance ramp.
(2) 
Both sides of the West Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) from Patrick Pike south to the Malloy Bridge Road.
(3) 
Both sides of the East Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) north from the Mars Road exit ramp (exit 269) north to the Mars Road entrance ramp.
(4) 
Both sides of the West Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) south from the Mars Road exit ramp (exit 269) south to the Mars Road entrance ramp.
(5) 
Both sides of the East Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) north from the Beltline Rd exit ramp (exit 270) north to the Beltline Road entrance ramp.
(6) 
Both sides of the West Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) south from the Beltline Rd exit ramp (exit 270) south to the Beltline Road entrance ramp.
(7) 
Both sides of the East Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) north from the Pleasant Run Rd exit ramp (exit 271) north to the Pleasant Run Rd entrance ramp.
(8) 
Both sides of the West Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (IH45) south from the Pleasant Run Rd exit ramp (exit 271) south to the Pleasant Run Rd entrance ramp.
(9) 
Both sides of the East Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (I45) north from the Fulghum Road exit ramp (exit 272) to Fulghum Road overpass at the city limits sign.
(10) 
Both sides of the West Service Road of Interstate Highway 45 (I45) south from Fulghum Road overpass to Fulghum Road entrance ramp.
(11) 
South side of the ramp from the East Service Road of IH-45 to the Mars Road overpass (north and south side of roadway).
(12) 
North side of the ramp from the East Service Road of IH-45 to the Pleasant Run Road overpass (north and south side of roadway).
(13) 
South side of ramp from the East Service Road of IH-45 to the Pleasant Run Road overpass (north and south side of roadway).
(14) 
North side of the ramp from the West Service Road of IH-45 to the Pleasant Run Road overpass (north and south side of roadway).
(15) 
South side of ramp from the West Service Road of IH-45 to the Mars Road overpass (north and south side of roadway).
(b) 
The chief of police or his duly authorized representative is directed to erect appropriate signs indicating the prohibition set out.
