The property known as “The Wise Memorial” heretofore
donated to the city by M.F. and Alan B. Wise in memory of their father
and mother, W.B. and May L. Wise, is hereby set aside and is to be,
under the name of “The Wise Memorial,” forever maintained
as an athletic field in the city for the holding thereon of open-air
games and athletic contests, meets and amusements. It is the desire
of the city council that such grounds and all facilities in connection
therewith be made available, without charge, to all citizens of the
city desiring to use the same for any such named purposes; provided,
however, to ensure the maintenance and upkeep of said grounds and
in accord with the wishes of the donors, reasonable fees for admittance
to such grounds may be charged persons desiring to witness athletic
contests. The admittance fees so charged and collected shall be used
for the benefit of the property and of athletic contests and the upkeep
of the grounds and facilities.
