Members of the police department with the exception of the head
of the department shall be entitled to receive assignment pay, as
permitted in Local Government code, sections 143.042, and 143.043,
as amended as follows:
(1)
Field training officer.
(A)
“Field training officer” shall mean a member of the police
department who is assigned to and performs the duties and responsibilities
of the field training officers program.
(B)
The field training officer shall be entitled to compensation at the
rate of $46.153 per pay period.
(C)
The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition
to the regular pay received by the member or members of the police
department assigned as the field training officer.
(2)
Crime prevention officer.
(A)
“Crime prevention officer” shall mean a member of the
police department who is assigned to and performs the duties and responsibilities
of the crime prevention officers program.
(B)
The crime prevention officer shall be entitled to compensation at
the rate of sixty-five dollars ($65.00) per pay period.
(C)
The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition
to the regular pay received by the member or members of the police
department assigned as the crime prevention officer.
(3)
Dispatcher training officer.
(A)
“Dispatcher training officer” shall mean a member of
the police department who is assigned to and performs the duties and
responsibilities of the dispatcher training officers program.
(B)
The dispatcher training officer shall be entitled to compensation
at the rate of six dollars and twenty-five cents ($6.25) per day when
performing the duties and responsibilities of the position.
(C)
The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition
to the regular pay received by the member or members of the police
department assigned as the dispatcher training officer.
(4)
SWAT officer/hostage negotiator.
(A)
“SWAT officer” shall mean a member of the police department
who is assigned to and performs the duties and responsibilities of
the special weapons and tactical team officer.
(B)
“Hostage negotiator” shall mean a member of the police
department who is assigned to the hostage negotiation team and is
a part of the SWAT team.
(C)
SWAT officers and hostage negotiators shall be entitled to compensation
at the rate of forty-three dollars and seventy-five cents ($43.75)
per pay period when assigned to the team.
(D)
The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition
to the regular pay received by the member or members of the police
department assigned as a SWAT officer or hostage negotiator.
(5)
Accident reconstructionist.
(A)
“Accident reconstructionist” shall mean a member of the
police department who is assigned to and performs the duties and responsibilities
of the accident investigation team.
(B)
An accident reconstructionist shall be entitled to compensation at
the rate of forty-three dollars and seventy-five cents ($43.75) per
pay period when assigned to the AIT.
(C)
The assignment pay provided by this section shall be in addition
to the regular pay received by the member or members of the police
department assigned as an accident reconstructionist.
